OUPA SE PITTE, HEROLDS BAY
Redberry Farm started with a step of faith and a vision of strawberries. This year, the farm is celebrating its 20th year of Berry Blessings with visitors from far and wide and look forward to being part of memorable experiences enjoyed by many.
The commercial strawberry grower started in the year 2000 and throughout the years this tourist destination - found in the heart of Garden Route in George - have welcomed many tourists, both local and international, to pick their own sweet and juicy strawberries. The family-friendly farm environment has many activities along with picking strawberries, that were introduced with passing years. Visitors can now conquer the challenge to complete the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere or take a ride on the Redberry Express mini train. Kids can run on water in a bubble ball or ride in a bumper boat on the farm dam, race family members and friends around the track on pedal go-carts or stroll around the paddock on ponies.
For many, it is difficult to imagine what the farm looked like when it started, but there are frequent visitors who’ve been part of the growth over the last 20 years and left their footprints with many wonderful memories.
Visitors can also enjoy strawberry-infused menu options from the Tea Garden or have a berry-licious drink from the Red Shed Coffee & Berry Bar. In 2018, the farm welcomed three artisanal eateries. The Noshery Pizzeria offers wood-fired pizza, Framboos has handcrafted ice cream and gelato and Houtbosch Wines invites people to enjoy their craft beer and wine tastings. There are more exciting plans in store for 2020.
About Redberry Farm
